History

Fire Defense was established in 1949 as a Michigan Corporation located in Detroit. Throughout our 70+ years in the fire protection industry, our advanced fire suppression, explosion protection, and intelligent alarm systems have performed at the highest levels, and we have maintain one of the most proficient, technically trained and certified service teams in North America.

Qualifications

All design work and installations are performed and/or supervised by personnel who are licensed engineers and/or NICET certified. Our design team and technicians regularly undergo additional manufacture and code-driven training for every tool and piece of technology that we use.

Designs are submitted for pre-installation approval to Insurance Underwriters, AHJ’s, owners, project managers, and architects as needed.

We are certified by the State of Michigan as a Fire Alarm and Fire Suppression firm, by the U.S. Department of Transportation as a certified vessel hydro testing facility, and we hold mechanical and electrical licenses in many States, local venues, and government bodies.

Financial

Fire Defense Equipment Company, Inc. is a fiscally conservative, fully insured corporation. We have never been short on funds to finance any project. To date, simultaneous work completed has spanned several million dollars at a time. Additionally, we maintain long-standing bank relationships and have access to unused lines of credit should the need ever arise.
