Fire Defense Equipment Company Inc. is a privately held, family-owned business, with members of the Kelly family directly involved in daily operations and customer relationships.
FOUNDED IN 1949
Husband and wife Ronald and Enola Kelly started Fire Defense out of a small shop in Detroit.
Ron charged and refilled fire extinguishers while also performing service work in the field.
Enola answered customer calls from the family house phone, often asking the kids to keep quiet while she scheduled service work.
Today, Robert Kelly is the president of the company, who purchased the business from Ron and Enola in 1990. His two sons Brad and Neal are actively involved.
