FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEMS
Kitchen Hood + Restaurant
Commercial kitchens operate with open flame, high heat, and grease-laden vapors that can rapidly develop into uncontrolled fire conditions. Kitchen hood fire suppression systems are designed to automatically detect and suppress fire hazards at cooking appliances, kitchen hoods, and exhaust ducting.
Fire detection is provided by mechanical fusible links or electronic spot heat detectors that, when activated, discharge wet chemical or water-based agents to rapidly knock down flames and cool surfaces.
Kitchen hood fire suppression systems can also interlock with cooking equipment and ventilation controls to shut down gas or electric power, turn off makeup air, and maintain exhaust airflow to help prevent reignition and further contain the hazard.
